The Haileybury Association was delighted to bring together two OHs now living and working in Sydney, both building successful careers in marketing. Zoe Cole (Colvin, 2018), recently relocated to Australia and met with Steve Alpe (Trevelyan, 2006), with their shared Haileybury experience helping to create an instant connection.
Despite graduating over a decade apart, they reflected on their journeys since leaving school and exchanged insights on their marketing careers.
For Zoe, the meeting offered a reassuring sense of continuity:
“There’s something so comforting about that kind of familiarity, like being reminded of where it all started and how far you’ve come, all in one chat.”
Steve echoed the sentiment, highlighting the strength of the global Haileybury network:
“Catching up with Zoe in Sydney was a wonderful reminder of the global reach of the Old Haileyburians community. It is incredible how the school fosters such a broad sense of connection, making it easy to find friendly faces all over the world. Regardless of the year you graduated, these reunions provide a perfect opportunity to reminisce about the good times at Haileybury and celebrate the lasting bond between alumni.”
It is wonderful to hear how a connection to Haileybury continues to drive meaningful connections across the world, creating enduring friendships and networks that span continents and generations. If you are interested in locating fellow OHs in your area or expanding your professional network, head to Haileybury Connect and search the directory.
