Old Haileyburian Lilibet Philpott takes on the London Marathon for children’s charity

We are delighted to share that Lilibet Philpott (Hailey, 2022) will be running the 2026 London Marathon in support of the Lord’s Taverners, a charity that provides young people with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to enjoy and learn through sport. Hear from Lilibet below about why she chose to run for this amazing cause and if you’d like to show your support, simply click the button below to visit her fundraising page.

“My name is Lilibet and I will be running the London Marathon 2026 for the Lord’s Taverners. I am a relatively new long-distance runner with about 3 years of experience. My first ever race was the Battersea Park half marathon in 2024; I ran this solo but saw everyone else running for a charity and the level of support and camaraderie in the atmosphere and between the runners. This made me want to run for a charity, and with close connections to the Lord’s Taverners, I thought there is no better charity to run for!

The Lord’s Taverners are truly inspiring. Their goal is to provide young children with disabilities or facing socio-econmic disadvantages opportunities to play sport, specifically cricket. Physical activity and movement is so important for both physical and mental wellbeing, and is vital to children’s development. This is something I have experienced myself as a new found lover of running and movement, and so the prospect of helping these children fulfil their sporting dreams is something worth running for.

Thank you for your time and donations!”
