Old Haileyburians in a world of sport

Tom Billings (Bartle Frere, 2011) and Mark Farmiloe (Batten, 1998) were recently named Noel Bruce winners after competing in the Noel Bruce rackets tournament. Billings and Farmiloe played as a team, representing Haileybury, and secured the championship by winning against strong opponents including notable pairs like Westgate’s Ben Cawston and Tom Foster.

Jamie George (Bartle Frere, 2008) and England’s rugby team delivered a historic performance on November 14, 2025, securing a commanding 33-19 victory against New Zealand at Twickenham in the Autumn Nations Series. This win marked England’s first victory over the All Blacks in six years and culminated in securing the Hillary Shield.

Oscar Piastri (Kipling, 2020) was recently honored with the ‘The Don’ award at the Australian Hall of Fame after an inspiring Formula 1 season. Piastri’s remarkable performances throughout the F1 year earned him this distinguished national recognition, celebrating his talent, dedication, and success on the international racing stage.
