Last Thursday, the Haileybury Schola Cantorum had the great honour of performing at Westminster Abbey as part of Choral Evensong.
The service included a liturgy written by Thomas Cranmer in 1549, one of the great cultural legacies of Tudor England, which remains a moving and enduring act of worship.
Singing in one of the UK’s most well-known and historic venues, the choristers delivered a confident and well-executed programme of choral music.
We were delighted to see over 200 members of the Haileybury community at the service, including parents, former parents, pupils, Old Haileyburians and friends. It was excellent to see such strong support for the choir and for music at Haileybury more broadly.
The performance is a credit to the pupils’ commitment and to the guidance of our music staff. We are very proud of how they represented the School on this special occasion.
